The story follows Sakai Yuuji...a normal boy who one day finds out he's dead and has been for sometime now. One day, he meets a Flame Haze, who fights monsters from another world called Kuze no Togara. These monsters eat the "existence" of humans, so those who had their existence eaten no longer exist at all, in life nor memory nor anything. Yuuji is one of those who had their existence eaten, though we don't really know when yet. Because of sudden disapperance of a large amount of existence, this is a big shock to the world, so flame hazes usually replace those who are eaten with "torches". Torches are just like a body of their former selves that slowly becomes nothing, slowlys! so that people or the world wouldn't have that big of a shock. "You can see why i took of a point for the story...it's a good story but confusing at the beginning but you'll come to understand it later on."

Sakai Yuuji is a normal boy who finds out one day that he is just a torch after meeting a Flame Haze who he later gives the name Shana because she doesn't hace a name. As i said before...torches slowly disappers within a certain amount of time, but because there is this special "treasure" that came to live in Yuuji, his powers/torch gets regenerated every nite at the stroke of twelve so he so far comtinues to be here. Shana is the flame haze of whom Yuuji met. Her name, given to her by Yuuji, because of her blade is called Nietono no Shana. There are many flame hazes all over the world. They fight tomogaras to protect people. Usually flame hazes have crossed paths with the monsters before and in some way have something done wrong to them...so they hate tomogaras. Shana is one of the exceptions who doesn't hate them. There's this other girl who also likes Yuuji, and Shana has to face her off and accept her own feelings that she do like Yuuji.

The music is so good..OMG.....the ending is especially good..i like the opening song too, but most people seem to like the ending song and scences better. I don't care...i like both of them a lot a lot a lot.

The animation is so good with lots of details like their eyes. With vivid colors and graphics...i give it a top ten.

I love this story...it's a refreshing change from others. This talks more about their feelings but though it is normal feelings. Shana is a Flame Haze who doesn't really care about life. She never took a bath or watched tv or anything like that. We get to see how she comes to age and learn to be a somewhat more of a normal girl, by that i mean what every girl should know or feel. HALF SPOILER: She doesn't understand some of the other girls feelings...like when she had to ask Yuuji's mom what a kiss is. SHe knows what a tv is and what it does, she knows a kiss, she seen it before....but she doesn't really have her own opinions and feelings about it. She reads books and dictionaries about what they are but they just give her mere facts like that a kiss is a greeting or something..but she doesn't know the difference between kissing someone she like and someone like a father, also the difference between a kiss on the cheeks and a kiss on the lips. BUt along with this, they kick ass, so our male folks should like this too.The monsters(tomogara) are wierd disgusting freaky monsters. PEOPLE PEOPLE SHOULD REALLY REALLY WATCH THIS ANIME.

I was hooked on to this series ever since first episode. Everything is excellent in Shakugan no Shana, except there should have been a bit more fighting. One more thing though, Shana should have KISSED Yuji at the end. Very enjoyable series!

so you really think so? Give me something better then, beside OVAs and CGs anime, give me something with better overall animation, not just fighting scenes because this anime isn't just about fighting. If you're watching the dub, watch the sub verson because the voice is freaking much better in Jap. And give some valid complain next time you wanna complain.

This anime is overrated to the core! Its sooooo cliche, nothing special in the least. And the animation sucks donkey nuts! Stay away from this crap!!!!

To those who're expecting explosions and cool fighting scene, sorry to disappoint you but not all anime sucks like bleach and yu yu hakusho. To those who hates the kind of love that's like "oh I love you" then there isn't but 4 seconds of that line in this whole 24 eps anime, and if you can't take that 4 seconds then you're better off don't even watch romance genre. To those who doesn't like the music, maybe you wanna hear some heavy metal music then? but those aren't music to begin with, if you find somebody's screaming and screwed up guitar interesting, then don't even watch anime because they're from rap down to pop mostly. To those who don't like the animation, try watching some serie of gundam, in which they freaking replayed almost half the serie, then you'll come to senses and agree that shakugan no shana has decent animation. To those who don't like the ending? No, it's not the end, there's a movie coming in 2007, wait till then and you can shout all you want about how good the ending is. To those who watched at least first 3 eps of this serie and still don't approve of it, admit it, you just don't wanna watch anime at all. Last and least, I myself prefer something in the middle, something beside what people's always been doing for the same genre of story. Shakugan no Shana passes that. Think, what's been super-power up until now? What's the badass that causes the conflict always been? What becomes of love-triangle beside harem? What was it that the girl attracted to the guy in the first place? Did any harem anime explains how the girl started to like the guy or a guy started without anybody loving him? Much much more of those makes Shakugan no Shana different that other anime. It deserves 10 rating and that's finale.
