The story is your traditional school romance/comedy that aspires from the "boy chases girl who chases other boy" scenario. While there are other aspects to the anime, this is primary focal point. However, the story doesn't really seem to flow in any certain direction and the ending fails to tie up anything and leaves you hanging. Had the series flowed more directional and smoothly, as well as provided some sense of closure to the story then I, for one, would have been much more satisfied.

The characters cover all aspects of the traditional school drama anime. The quiet girls, the shy girls, the violent girls, the violent yet soft-hearted guys, the loud and ambitious guys. They're all there for your viewing pleasure.

The music in School Rumble is unique to say the least. The intro song "Scramble" is quick to grasp your attention and it makes it hard not to smile while listening and watching the intro animation. The ending theme "Onna no Ko Otoko no Ko" / "Boys and Girls" is also pretty funny to listen to if you can understand the lyrics. Background music in the series is nothing to rave about but not a disappointment either. I highly recommend finding the single "Koi no Jumon wa Papa-Pipu-Pa" / "Magic Spell of Love is Papa-Pipu-Pa" if you can as it is just as catchy as the ending theme. School Rumble is one series that is memorable by the music alone.

The animation in School Rumble has a tendency to jump from traditional school drama style, to hardcore action style, to funny chibi style. While each is done smoothly, it would be nice to have the series decide what it wanted to do. However, I suppose this simply adds to the comedy aspect of the series.

School Rumble is an anime that is fun to watch, but you can only stand so much of it in one sitting. Usually, after about three episodes, I become saturated and have to watch something that makes a little bit more sense or at least something with a flowing storyline. Still, the series of 26 episodes is enough to keep you laughing for a while and is at least viewable for one round.

School Rumble is one of the funniest anime I have seen so far. It has a wide cast of characters and very interesting and well written storyline. The character designs are unique, the music is exciting and the animation is good quality. It is easy to get hooked to this anime because once you start watching it is hard to stop, and I really mean it because thats what happened to me. A true gem in romantic comedy anime so go ahead and watch it. It well be well worth your time watching School Rumble!

others don't even come close. I rewatched the season and ova's only to realize how much more I liked it over other series. Can't wait for 3rd season

Very funny, then endless. Don't expect any outcome as long as people don't express their boredom to the authors clearly enough. 8/10 if you can quit it before the deja-vu feeling.
