Story:
Love-Romance (harem) - Based off the Manga with the same name. Comedy. This story is just plain funny. One of the funniest show and manage series I've ever watched. The story is about a 16 year old high school student (Hayate) whose parents have a bit of a gambling problem. In fact they rack up over 150 million yen in debt and sell their son to a loan shark in order to pay it. Unable to pay it back, he decides to kidnap a girl in the park (Nagi) and hold her for ransom. However, due to vague language, Nagi thinks he is confessing his love to her. Eventually he rescues her from real kidnapers and she make him her butler. It just so happens that Nagi is the heiress of a family so powerful, they could easily erase someones existance from the world. The story continues with Hayate's daily chores as a combat butler, battling killer robots and such, as well as battling school, Nagi's fience, and just about anything else that can be battled. |

Characters:
The characters manage to hit all of the major steriotypical types (mostly in parody). The main character Hayate is a lot different from the standard main guy characters (in a very good way). In fact when he dresses like a girl, he's probably better looking than some of them. Nagi (the blonde in the picture) is a little over the top. Also I think her voice actress fits, but the pitch of the voice can get on my nerves sometimes. Maria (brown hair in picture) is just awsome (and hot). All other charcters are great with a couple noticable exceptions. Maria makes me want to rate it 11, but some of the lesser characters knock it down to 9. |

Music:
The music is really nice. The opening song as well as both endings fit very well. Good is about the only word I can think of to describe it. |

Animation:
Again great artwork, well animated. Just try and count some of the parodys. Some of them are so minute you almost need to be looking for them. (Hint: check out all the statues in the house). Artwork matches the manga very well. |

Comments:
This series (at the time of the review) is still on going. The reason I reviewed it was to get people to watch it as it's a real gem. It follows the manga very well, so I feel confident that my numbers would hold up to the end. Currently the only people subbing it is Eclipse (with static-subs). Their translations, as always, are generally spot on (as good as any group) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rating: 9 This anime is pretty much comedy, with action and adventure. There is some romance here and there and alot of drama because the main character is a butler who made a very rich girl fall in love with him. The rich blonde girl reminds me of Shana from Shakugan no Shana. She's in high school but she's younger than she looks. And she's extremely spoiled but cute. She's like an always frustrated Shana, which I think is really cute. Hayate the butler, is supposed to be the main main character, and he really likes to suprise us in many way. This anime has alot of puns about other types of anime, and I don't know if non-anime people would like this but I would say give it a try... I'm not an expert or anything but I'd highly recommend this anime to anybody who liked Ouran High School Host Club, maybe Lucky Star, and Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Something like that... I've watched them all, and I'm pretty sure I haven't listed alot of other anime but my time here is short so I'll get to the point. Just watch a few episodes, and maybe you'll like it, and it may stick on you. Or you might stick on it... ~Later!! Submitted on September 16, 2008 |
