The setting of Claymore's story is a fictional world with medieval technology. Politically, it appears to consist of a large number of scattered, apparently independent, towns. In this world, humans coexist with creatures called Yoma sentient monsters that feed on human innards. The Yoma, being shapeshifters, are capable of taking on human form and living in disguise amongst humans. By consuming a human's brain, Yoma can also absorb their memories, allowing them to disguise themselves as specific people without alerting any of their close friends or family. A nameless and highly secretive organization has created an order of superhuman warriors to protect humans from the Yoma. These warriors have come to be popularly known as Claymores, after the immense claymores( their big swords) they wield. Villages being attacked by Yoma hire Claymores to kill the Yoma for a large fee.

Claymores wear a uniform consisting of pale grey tightly fitting two piece (a long sleeve shirt and pants) clothing. Claymores with shapeshifting powers replace part or all of this with a black material which can stretch to match changes. Over this, they wear some pieces of armour, Sabatons, shin high metal boots (that are slightly high-heeled), large wrist guards (Vambraces), large Spaulders (shoulder pieces) and a partial skirt (Fauld). Finally, they wear a short cape and a piece of fabric marked with the individual Claymore's specific certification symbol attached to their neck. Each Claymore's symbol is unique and serves as an identification marker. It also appears on their sword and black card. You have got to love their Armour. Each character in the anime has its own unique abilities and characteristic. Clare, is the series' protagonist.When she was a little girl, her family was killed and eaten by a yoma impersonating her brother. After being chased out of her village, another captured her and made her part of its disguise and its toy, often torturing her. She was saved by Teresa and empathising with Teresa's pain, Clare followed her for days without rest, food, or water. Teresa, after at first trying to get rid of Clare, eventually let her travel with her, and the two became attached. The presence of a caring human in her life helped Teresa regain her lost happiness and humanity. Their life together was cut short when Teresa was forced to kill some human bandits to save Clare's life. The organization sent four of their best Claymores to execute Teresa, who was eventually killed by the awakened Priscilla.

i cant say more about the music, its great. The music really get you right into the animation with all the pulsating beats. It makes you somehow scared when you are watching it.

So far, definitely so good. Blood, demons, and a loner girl with a sword cutting a path right down the middle. The character designs really are great, you’ve just gotta love the Claymore body armor. I don’t think the story is really going to blow anyone away anytime soon, but it seems like it will be solidly entertaining regardless.

i high recommend this series. It has some twist which makes you really shocked and fighting scenes which are really mind blowing! A really top notch series for 2007!

damn.. i love this anime... oh btw.. i heard frm friends that there's a season 2 coming out? when will it be? i cant wait to watch season 2.. >

The episodes that u can watch are really good... animation, sound 10/10 ... but the story, music and the "continues in 5 years" whatever ending makes it a little weard ... still worth seeing !
