Story:

Mutou Kazuki was a pretty normal schoolboy until the day he went up to the abandoned factory in the hills behind his school. There, he met a girl named Tokiko, whose life he saved from a huge monster - by sacrificing his own. Wait a minute, if that happened, how is it that he's dreaming about it now? Was it just a dream? The real story starts here, and keeps you on the edge of your seat as it proves this series to be different from the average schoolboy-fighting-to-save-the-world story.

Characters:

Nicely designed and thought out. They don't exactly do what you think they would all the time. Humor and suspense are introduced through many of the personalities encountered.

Music:

The musical score fits series well. The opening song amps you up and the rest of the songs unobtrusively keep the mood going until the end of the episode.

Animation:

Very well animated. It's as simple as that. The CG is well mixed with the regular artwork and the colors are vibrant - befitting the type of show that this is.

Comments:

I really hope that they do not end this one in a mediocre way. The series is very entertaining, and deserves to be finished in like manner. Some good relationships should also be formed along the way - adding to the appeal of the show. Enjoy!

Busou Renkin is about a kid who gains magical powers and starts fighting monsters with the help of a mysterious girl. Wait, you've seen it already? So have I. The show does nothing at all to advance the genre. The action is mediocre, the characters are cookie-cutter, the animation average, and the sound forgettable. Busou Renkin would be a five if it HADN'T BEEN DONE BEFORE. But to be considered art in its genre, it would need a lot more than what it provides
