Story:
* Based on a game It is said that the Holy Grail grants wishes to he who wields it. To materialise the Holy Grail, a ritual is about to be held. The Holy Grail will choose seven wizards (masters) and give them seven familiar spirits (servants). Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. More most likey to come. The master contracts with one of seven familiar spirits that plays one of the above roles (classes). The master must prove that he is qualified to have the Holy Grail, meaning that he must eliminate other masters to show he is the strongest. This ritual is called "The Holy Grail War". The story takes place in Fuyuki City. It is a city surrounded by the sea and mountains. In this common city, a shadow encroaches. The main character had lost his parents in a fire when he was a child. He was adopted by a person who called himself a wizard. Disobeying his father-in-law, the main character has studied magic. However, because he lacked talent, he could obtain only one magic spell despite several years' training. One day, the main character is accidently involved in a fight between two opposing masters. As he is dying, a girl suddenly appears and saves him. "...Now, I ask you. Are you my master?" He contracts with one of the seven servants, Saber. Willingly or not, he becomes a master, and plunges into a war over the Holy Grail... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rating: 6 Animation is smooth, sometimes frustrating because the story seriously hinders the growth of the characters. Watchers of this anime should consider simply buying the game if all you want is animated girls. Submitted on February 10, 2007 |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rating: 10 Fate Stay Night is an extremely admireable series based on an eroge, but reduced a bit for 13 and up. My first impressions of this series while watching was that it was most definitely going to be good. And boy oh boy was it! The main story focuses mostly around Emiya Shirou and his summoned Servent named Saber. They live in a world where Magicians and Warlocks exist, praticing their magical arts secretly so as not to interfere with normal peoples lives. Emiya unfortunately is not a tru magician and only learned one spell from his Father, who was a born magic user that adopted Shirou. Becuase of this Emiya is not as capable as a lot of the other magicians in the field like his first rival, the lovely Tohsaka Rin. Eventually Emiya is taken into the world of magicians when he accidently sees Tohsaka and her servant fighting for their lives against another servant at their school. Sadly since the magicians like to keep their magic secret, it is a rule that anyone that sees such things as servants battling must die. This causes Emiya to experience death, but to be saved by Tohsaka. Although our first impressions of Tohsaka are of a cold heartless witch (Well she is a magician isn't she?), she turns out to be a valuable friend to Emiya and assists him in learning what he needs to know about the battle he is about to enter. Once Emiya's servant, Saber is summoned (not on purpose mind you) Emiya is immediately thrust into a battle that has raged for decades between magicians to get their hands on a wish granting object known as the "Holy Grail". This begins the relationship between all the characters and gives us a very interesting and beautiful storyline that details Emiya and his (rightly so...) love for his servant the stunningly beautiful Saber. I must admit I'm a horribly squishy romantic on this series. Every time I watch it I cry at the end... and you have to see part which I will only describe as "The Kiss". Danged if that won't get your heart all fluttery inside... I must strongly recommend seeing this series from beginning to end and not missing a single episode! And if you don't fall in love with Saber by the end then shame on you! DL it from here or get the DVD collection! (I'm doing that now, I have the whole series downloaded, but I just love it so much i have to OWN it!) Submitted on February 06, 2007 |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rating: 6 I think this anime was good, but for one thing, at times I almost fell asleep. Story was good, character design was not bad, except what Saber was wearing, I mean did she really have to wear that big old dress, how can anyone fight in that. I wish fighting scenes could be better, besides using their power most of the time and that's it. But on and all, this anime was OK. Submitted on September 09, 2006 |
