July 20th, 2002. That is when Baka-Updates first came into existence. It has been four years since we have started and we are still here! Anyways, we have nothing planned for this anniversary since most of the staff are busy with real life work.

I thank you all for visiting us for all these years and making us flourish to be one of the top anime sites on the internet. Thank you everyone for your support, and I hope we can continue to receive your support for the years to come.

Sometime last night \ early morning, Chikushou reported the release of episodes 1-3 of Gun-do Musashi from the group, Best. As it turns out, these epsidoes are jokesubs and have been removed from the website. I need to make it clear that Baka-Updates does not in any way find it amusing when users report jokesub\fakesub\april fool's releases to us as if they were actual fansubs. Make it known that they're jokesubs in the report and it might be a different story, but passing them off as real releases isn't something that we apreciate. Those of us who keep the website updated have lives outside of B-U and irc, and can't check the validity of every single episode that is reported to us before we update the release page. We trust that the people who report releases to us are mature enough to keep things factual and professional. This is the second time this has happened this month, I belive. If you don't want us to go back to the old system of only voiced users have the ability to report releases I seriously recomend to you that you think twice before reporting jokesubs to us as if they were real fansubs. Also, from here on out, any and all users found to be reporting jokesub\fakesub releases without stating their nature in their release report may be banned from the channel without warning. Those of you who think its funny, don't ruin the service for everyone.

Ok so that poll has lasted longer then I wanted it to. I wanted to change it awhile ago, but I forgot the question I wanted to ask. I still don't remember it so I just thought up a new one. Results from the last poll.

Question: What kind of fansubs do you download? This means are you the type that downloads whoever releases first? Or do you wait until groups you consider to be the highest quality?

It appears that [Your-Mother] School Rumble 2nd - 10 [10BE1337].avi is a jokesub and not a School Rumble episode. Note that we don't apreciate having fake or jokesub episodes reported to us. In any case, it has been removed from today's release list.

Okay, just letting everyone know that we got the server fixed (hopefully). I restarted the torrent scanner (the seeder/leecher thing). Sorry that has been down for a few days.
