The opening scared me. Not the Doom 3 type of scare, but kind of the horrifying feeling you get in the back of your mind when all hope is lost =/

Dark indeed... I'll continue to watch the series, but I can't say I'm big on vampires, I just think it's so overplayed in every media form =/

Is it just me, or do alot of animes/movies with violence start out with the character having amnesia or somesuch?

Well, from a gamers standpoint, I've encountered tons of people that would rather play a vampire than a human or an elf in most RPGs. Mainly D&D and Neverwinter Nights. Most, if not all, didn't know how to roleplay a vampire, so they cast them in a bad light.

But IDK, maybe this will make me think that vamps are cool again.

I agree, but that just makes it all the sweeter when its done properly ^^

its common in every genre of anime
just try and remember all those harem shows where the main character is suddenly swamped by a slew of childhood friends that he can't remember

I'm dissappointed. Blood+ has none of the gritty feel that the movie possessed. It's like a high-school drama anime being stuffed into a vampire anime.

Think of it like this:
-how did sayas personality became so fokkedup? (in the movie) that had to happen cuz of sumthin? --- i mean she is killin vampires but she is one her self, she hates a guy for saying god damnit (why?) and has no further emotions --- (this had to happen cuz of sumthing)
-why isnt she a vampire like the others? big and bat-like.
-what is her background story?

so i would see the serie as:
-a series that explains how saya became a vamp killer and maybe wy?

but yea..... im wild guessing here any way.... though maybe this will prevent sum useless discusions

i'm not complaining that saya isn't the same.... obviously she didn't start out the way she is in the movie.... but even so the atmosphere of blood+ is too stereotypical and completely unlike the movie. Even so I'll save my final judgement for when I've seen a few more episodes. If things get more serious and less kiddy then I will be happy to keep watching.
