An unfortunate event

On Saturday night, while I'm watching my anime, a 3 spywares suddenly attacked my dear computer!!! My brother got rid of 2 of them but the last one is hard to get rid...it led us to the worst site by force and that site was called "VirusHost".....as a result we also got virus attack on our computer TT^TT So we quickly take out our dear hard disk that kept all our anime from the comp and try and fix it....The next day, we go and buy pirated CDs of Window XP service pack2 and anti-virus...phew!! My important stuff are saved....but then....

CURSE THE CREATOR OF SPYWARE AND VIRUS....IF I EVER TO BECOME A PSYCHOTIC EVIL DICTATOR, THE FIRST THING IS TO PUT THEM ALL IN GAS CHAMBER OR BURN THEM ALIVE IN FRONT OF THE CROWD!!! YES!!! AND LET THEM CONTINUE TO BURN IN HELL!!!! GAH!!!!! GEH!!!~ Can't the hacker just do something for the good, like destroy those evil capitalists and investors and not just do it for fun on innocent ppl??? Gah~~~~~ >_< what a worst case scenario for me TT^TT OK i have enough of whining

before i bought the service pack i don't have any antivirus or firewall on my comp...so that was really a big risk..

I'm the same but I don't learn my lesson, still don't have firewall or antivirus . The stupid MSN worm struck and I had to reinstall...
I suggest Ad-Aware SE personal (free for personal use) and Viruses don't randomly attack. Get a pop-up blocker blocks halve of them. Just don't go on porn sites and such too much (I doubt that you do) and Beat up ANYONE on AIM/MSN/Yahoo who trieds to send you "lol, this is fun [virus link]"

I noticed that once I started Using FireFox the amount of spyware I have gotten has decreased by 80%. I use to run all my ad-ware/spy-ware programs once a week but now have started only scanning once every two weeks to even a month without even going into the double digits of found files.

If your not using Firefox I highly suggest it, Its great when going on those naughty sites aswell. ;)

I run an adaware quick scan every day. It only takes 2 minutes, and normally doesn't find anything besides tracking cookies, but it's still a good thing to do.

Yeah ad-aware helps aot. add firofox to it and your computer is almost virus free. i check my system once a month and there is hardly anything new.

fine what do you want me to say? I mean i hate adware and spyware stuff too. Everytime i d/l from torrentreactor i get the spyware stuff. And everytime i d/l from kazaa and stuff i get spyware too. IT bugs the shit outta me.

Tips: Don't use Kazaa cuz its shit anyways and its full of spywares and virus. Use other reliable torrent sites like boxtorrents and just run Ad-Aware once a week and you should be fine. And restrain yourself from doing stupid things like clicking on a porn site, when you know it will give you virus and spywares.

You say it's the sites you visit, but really when I search for something on Google, I don't know what kind of site is the one that I click to find an answer. So no, originally it's the Virus creator's fault not the user's.
