Anime recommendation engine "aNi-N-gin"

My group coded 2-3 days ago a script that is able through MyAnimeList account to suggest animes according to what "your kind of watcher" likes. The algorithm compares you with hundreds of entries and matches you with the ones who liked your same anime. Lastly, it outputs which anime are rated the highest by this class of watchers.

We want to get suggestions, and we believe there's really a lot to give. Even though maybe the recommendations won't be perfect, please, tell us what you dislike of the interface and what would you like to be added.

Note that:
-It gets more precise the more people use it.
-It gets more precise if you rated your MyAnimeList list of anime.
-It can't notice the relationship between prequels and sequels.

Ah, lists of what you got and what was wrong with it are welcome as well.

Your engine would really be alot better if you could unselect some of the suggestions to get them replaced somehow. As a manga reader, there's alot of anime I didn't watch because I've already read them and getting them suggested to me isn't really useful.

Recommendation Engine? Did you mean spit out Random Anime's engine? I have tried creating several my anime accounts and only adding a few of one genre of anime to see what happened. Adding Beserk and Death Note and Gantz gave returned results including card captor Sakura. Because you know thats full of blood gore and adult content. Same thing happens when putting in other genres, it doesn't really seem to care whats put in as it spits out random anime's regardless.

Its supposed to be a recommendation engine. This means it recommends things you like based on what you put into it. Go look at netflixs for a working one. If you put in all hardcore porn its not going to tell you to watch bambi. Someone who puts in Gantz, Deathnote, and Beserk is looking for something Similar.

If you want something in the same genre you can search existing anime databases by genre. This thing might actually recommend you something you'd not normally consider watching but, statistically, you're likely to enjoy. Maybe. Card Captor Sakura is really good, btw.

Any normal "by genre" search engine would bring up all sorts of hentai with a mahou shoujo search query though, yah?

How about a website with just a list of current anime series that are good. I tend to stay away from certain kinds of anime but I think my tastes still vary too much to just have series from a genre or style recommended to me.
