How about a system that emails you whenever episode x of any series is released? I don't know how hard it would be to code but it would be amazingly useful.

actually it would be murder on distro. Better to let a few people in the dark so the bots and torrents can stand up to the demand.

You could script something that parses the site looking for that. :o

Favourite anime

Postby Muiff » Mon May 09, 2005 7:56 am

What about a "favourite anime" page? It would do a search on released anime, just like the "releases" page, but filter out anything the user did not specify.

Or I'll have to learn how to parse RSS feeds...

It only takes 10 seconds to check the new releases every day o_o 20 to check twice daily. Why do you need a magic scripted favourite-anime-update checker?

You can actually get an RSS feed client that filters out stuff you don't want too. Look them up and see what features they have; there's gotta be hundreds of RSS clients out there.

One suggestion: Make the RSS feed more obvious. I had to go to page 5 of the news to find the URL.

It is listed in our channel topic, but I guess not everyone checks that. We will try to post future updates in the forum as well.
