Only appeals to fanboys of those series that it reminds them of really.

Breath of fresh air? What because it has the dumb style? Seriously, that's like saying Macademi Wasshoi was amazing then, lol. Everything about it was retarded and painful to me. Had to drop it faster then all that ungodly shonen this past season like index and yozakura quartet...

But knew deep down peep would have a OMG it's like bebop!! COOL QWINZZ!!! OMFG!!! type reaction to it.

Is there actually some tangible reason why you hate it?

Animation: Good
Voice Acting: Sounds Good
Music: Sounds Good
Characters: Not one-dimensional
Plot: Hard to say given the series just begin

Sounds to me like you just hate Michiko to Hatchin because you dislike the people who watch it. And on what are you basing the assumption that people only watch it because it reminds them of Cowboy Bebop? "This show has certain good qualities that remind me of Cowboy Bebop" is not the same as "OMG it's like Cowboy Bebop I have to watch it!"

I mostly like it. It's not quite as awesome as my first impression led me to believe it'd be, but it certainly ain't bad.

Michiko to Hatchin is cool, so damn cool, but I don't really understand how it reminds some of cowboy bebop. It's really nice though that there are still animes that can captivate me without a good story or even a setting that I dig, it's just cool, and tough, and funny.

I think I'll redownload it now...
