So either anime sucks and has become too mainstream (because it is quite popular with american youth who is by default retarded) or weve all grown past anime /gg

Yeah nah, there's some good animes coming out and I've been meaning to watch it all for a while... but there's such a backlog that it's kind of daunting now.
It doesn't help that I've been playing lots of games either, I guess. And playing games doesn't count as growing out of animes; the two are inseparably intertwined in today's modern visual culture.
