Yeah, I have known a few people like that. The cool anime club I used to be in had a president who was very anti-fansub.. and she had a few friends the same. So yeah, there were people around with huge bookshelves packed full of dvds. It's weird. I got tired of waiting a year or so for the releases to make it to Region 4 though ._. so I've never been much of a collector.

My biggest reason for not buying anime DVDs is that there's a high risk of getting shitty translations. If there was a way of checking sub quality like you can with fansubs, it's possible that i'd consider buying some DVDs.silverace99 wrote:Is it just me or do fansubs typically have less confusing translations than official releases?

No, that doesn't hold because they have to sit through commercials and you don't. NOTHING is free.
