I was actually thinking of tattooing the names of my children onto myself.

Okay then. For every child I have I'll cut off a finger. How's that?

Heh, well I've been pierced in my lifetime maybe 30 times or so (not all at once). I only have my septum (very small/tight ring, not super visible) and lip nowadays -- as well as two industrials through each ear.

Also, I'm very preoccupied with being a cyborg -- I have been since I was 10. Thus, here are my tattoos of awesome:

this was one of the last sessions, the red faded to gray eventually

Sorry, i'm not a tacky butterfly or tribal sort of girl ;) but you can find them easily at your local meat market bar.

Shakedown: 41 hours over the course of a year o_o

Kasuga: in concept yes ^_^ though I thought it was kind of overrated :/ truly gorgeous in animation/audio though.

I wouldn't mind getting a small Angry-Yotsuba tattoo. A mudkip could also be fun.

Points for originality, for sure, but enjoy you tattoo removal bill later in life when you realize that you had the gaudiest tastes in your youth.

It's a common statement from people about tattoos in general, but it's one I don't buy into.

I have a few rules about tattoos: first, I have to wait at least a year before getting it. If I still want it a year later, great. Second, it has to mean something to me personally or, as you say, I'd probably regret it. If more people subscribed to these rules, people would get less tattoos.

My tattoos mean something deeply personal to me -- they aren't just random. It's an ongoing theme that's been around for 8 years now (and it's not the "I love cyborgs" theme I've mentioned in various posts here). When I'm 60, will I regret it? In my opinion now at 26, probably not. The tattoos have a deep meaning, I think they are absolutely gorgeous (I've been fascinated with cybernetics since I was 10 -- that's not a trivial amount of time), etc. You call gaudy what I have, while I call gaudy the random crap people get slapped onto some part of their body for no reason.

The real question though that I immediately think about when I hear the argument you are giving are is that when I'm 60, why the hell will I care? Admittedly I don't stare at naked 60 year old bodies all day, but when I'm 60, I'm guessing I'll have a hell of a lot of worse problems going on besides ink on my skin ;) I'll be old and happy -- who cares what my husband is gonna think when I'm naked? He'll look like shit too! :p I also don't plan on having children ever, but if I did, I'd like to think I'd raise them to be open minded enough to not care about what mommy has on her skin.

This sentence ruined my image of you.
