Oh yeah the dubbed version is terrible. Absolute drivel. It kinda lost its charm in translation. But I just love the plot, and although they're a bit farfetched, the storylines are usually half-decent.

Still. At least it's not Naruto. /pif

I thought it was rubbish, tbh.

Hmm!
Well, I can see how he can think that... I loved the Kenshin OVAs the first couple of times around, but I went to watch them with another friend once and it just seemed totally melodramatic and dependent on the violence and flashy animation for its appeal. *shrug* Hmm!

Kenshin t.v. definitely has more charm, even if it's cheesy kids' cheese.

The OVAs are good for someone who doesn't read the manga and considers the anime to be the "real thing". But the fact that the OVA differs from the manga to such a huge extent makes it quite bad in my opinion.

Uhm... I suppose we're talking about the 2nd OVA that happens after the actual anime and not the first ones... :P

Anyway, my best anime would be:

Neon Genesis Evangelion + Movies
Incredible story, although it gave me a headache first time I saw it. After watching this, everything else is easy stuff. ^_^

Shaman King
Some of the best designed characters I have ever seen. Too bad it ended so suddenly.

FMA
Maybe it's the story, maybe it's the characters, the idea or something entirely different, but the anime kicks ass.

Death Note
One of the best and most intelligent stories out there. Nothing much more to say.

Rurouni Kenshin aka Samurai X
Same as for FMA. Incredible story, characters, everything fits perfectly.

Hellsing
A grim atmosphere and a sick story. A godlike vampire serving mere humans. The original anime is good, but nothing compared to the OVAs

I didn't add Bleach and Naruto although I'm a big fan of both as they are still ongoing and I feel that there is no need to point them out yet again. But both of them have a great story in my opinion and a couple of really nice ideas.
Also I thought of adding One Piece and Noir on the list but I didn't do it... Don't really know why, perhaps I'm just not into them right now. :P

I was talking about the first Kenshin OVA's. The ones that happen before the series where he is helping the revolutionists as an assassin.

PS. What did you like about Noir? To me it was an incredibly boring series.

PPS. How many series total (about) have you seen?

Ah well guess that one was good.

About Noir... Well I liked the story. And the music.

I have watched about 25-30 animes, but haven't completed all. Usually it's 10-15 episodes and if I don't like it, I either drop it, or place it low on the priority list.

.hack//Sign also had a great soundtrack. It wasn't enough to make the series good though. I love Noir soundtrack, but overall the anime sucked. I guess high school girls with guns just don't really excite me.

1. Azumanga Daioh
2. Great Teacher Onizuka

Rest really don't matter. Both of them you want to slit your wrists because they're so good and you realize you've watched all of them.

alot of ppl seem to not like FLCL ... but its one of my favorite animes.
you really have to give it a second chance, the first time i saw it i was baffled and thought it was shoddy and full of holes. but its got a great soundtrack, addictive charecters, and a plot that will suprise you with new revelations everytime you watch it.

Its like a sex-ed video with an sci-fi anime plot and a dash of teenage hormonal grunge. /no1
