Let's say you are fansubbing an anime series with English subs. Then someone comes along and releases an .srt that he translated from a French team! AND he plans to do more! I think that this just ruin's everything you work so hard for. Why not just release .srt's?

How does this, as a staff member, would make you feel?

Am I wrong for feeling like all this hard work is for nothing when I should just release .srt's of my own??

Did anyone have a similar experience?

Anyways, thanks for letting me vent.

Either you fansub because you feel good about the achievement or you are a cookie cutter ego-subber who craves recognition by the anonymous masses on the internets.

The latter (seems to concern you): GTFO.

I don't even know what you're saying. Are you crying because someone else is subbing the same things as you? If so, take down your manly avatar.

People are less likely to just dl .srt's because they have to download the raw separately, and let's face it. A lot of these 14-year old fangirls barely know their way around leeching; let alone loading an srt file into thir player of preferance.

Anyways, a ripped srt is a poor carbon copy at best of a proper script.
The quality isn't comparable and it's for a desperate minority. Hardly something to feel threatened over.
As far as I'm concerned, ripping a hard sub with the random shit subrip can spew, NIGGA EARNED MY BIKE!

Probably not. Though I can easily imagine that bootlegger didn't know any better or much english and thought shin-sen subs was part of the title. :lol:
