Yeah, it just struck me as necessary, and yet, unwanted.

All through the manga, the crew had just gotten through from being plain hardcore- gaining strength mainly through living and fighting- avoiding all of the shounen "powerup!!11" or "trainingz0r!1" (and yes, I know Zoro was always training, that's not what I'm talking about) sequences that are so prevalent.


Gear Second had me thinking of SSJLuffy, at first. >_>


I'm about a month behind, so I'll have a read when I get a chance.

Don't worry, all the powerups are somewhat practical and explained. It's not out of nowhere, so it's brilliant. They are completely necessary and I was happy to see them. All the powerups have downsides too, which makes them more real. Sanji's was a little strange, lol.

We'll see when I get home from class. Well, I guess. Sometime this week, at least. Last I saw was Luffy facing off against whatshisname as Franky ran past after Robin. I should have about ten chapters to read. >_>
