Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix

Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix for PlayStation 2, the game will be based on the US version of Kingdom Hearts II, plus a number of new elements, such as the new Card Battle system from Kingdom Heart: Chain of Memories and new characters.

Squaresoft is famous for those remixes, spinoffs and remakes
Look at FF3, 4, 5, KH:FM, FF7 international, etc

They often make a game in Japan, create some cool bosses (sephiroth in KH) for the US. Then they add some cool stuff to the US version and sell it back to Japan. That's milking to the extreme.
The engine isn't leaking oil....it's...it's sweating....from all that horsepower.

yeah square are a bunch of assholes. heck man. both final fantasy 7 and 13 are 20 year projects.

Dude.

They've been doing that since they've been on the PS1

They release a game in japan

Make fixes, tweaks, and new additions for the American/European releases.


Then they take that, apply some more fixes, maybe one or two new things added, and re-release it back in Japan.

Square started it with FF7 international, that's it for the remix. After that, the next one would be FFX international and X2. You could also count SS labeling old SaGa games as Final Fantasy mystic quest if you want. You make it sound like they've been doing that for 8 and 9 which they didn't make an international version.
