Lots of places are hesitant to use other materials due to a few factors, like allergies and how clean it stays.

Lots of people react bad to gold during the healing process but should be fine if they were it after. Much like it wouldnt be good to eat too much salt, but you can take a little.

i pierced my ears 3 times (in each lobe) by myself. I plan to get a tattoo...i know what and where...but i'm waiting for my bro's friend to do it for cheap.

Tattoos are more permanent than earrings; you can't take them out when it's convenient. They're not something you want to half ass. I'd get it done professionally (assuming your bro's friend isn't a professional).

Get your nipples pierced and then complain about a little earring. YOu wont feel it if they use the gun. If it's by hand, it'll pinch for a bit because they have to push it through, but it's healthier for your ear to do it this way if you plan on getting it on your cartilage.

He is a professional. He has a sterilizer and all that good healthy stuff. Trust me, i've seen "off the street" tattoos, and they are the crappiest crap i've ever seen! I wouldn't risk that on something i've wanted for years now. I'm not one to do permanent things without letting it marinate (for years in this case).

i was sooo close to getting my tattoos when i went home for spring break...but the rat-tat-tooie gods denied my request by having the artist show up an hour late, then run an errand before starting, then having shit happen keeping him away for like 3 hours...I grew tired and impatient and said fuk it and left. I don't know if i'm ever gonna get em done :( crys
