I'm all about being green, but all those morons that are going to turn off their lights at 9 for an hour are gonna get up tomorrow and drive their suv 3 blocks to work/school, buy shit wrapped in plastic that they'll trash instead of recycling and think they "made a difference"

Haha, but they do that anyway and never spare a thought, which is why it's great that a minor green event like this can get so much attention and get people like that thinking about how much they waste.
Even if earth day's message only affects one percent of people and they change their habits to reduce waste all the time, that's a huge difference overall and that's what earth day is about.

So yah, happy earth day and bah humbug.

(btw I didn't do anything in particular; I didn't even know it was on but this thread now explains why Google had a clean environment nature style picture a couple of days ago.)
