In anime, it's always some dramatic scene with fireworks or a sunset in the background while one person seems completely flabbergasted. I pretty much figured that life did not actually work this way, but it happened to me last night.

I guy friend of mine has been really emotional lately from breaking up with an abusive girlfriend and then BAM, he is crying telling me that he's in love with me and has been since we WERE JRS IN HIGH SCHOOL. I did not see this coming at ALL. I never thought I was treated by him in a particularly special manner.

I'm also very much married and I don't feel this way for him.

Has this ever happened to you guys and how did it turn out?

When I told my girlfriend I like her we were in my rool sitting next to one another on my bed. and she said she liked me oo and we ended up sitting there kind of cuddled up not really saying much. Fuck the fireworks ill take that instead

Ok, this did not "come out of nowhere" since all "guy friends" are just hanging around waiting for a chance to make their move. Either that or they're in denial as to their inability to do so

I'm certainly not saying you played this guy along, but there's a bit of a relationship between how emotional a guy is and how much female attention it takes to get them attached.

I'm assuming this guy didnt need much.

Can say I feel any sort of sympathy for him, he should have gotten this out in the open years ago, instead he let it get this way.

As for me, it's my belief that confessions never work, so I've never done it. I prefer to go on casual date and then plant a seed of companionship, turning up the heat progressively, fast enough that I dont get friend zone'd but not so fast that they get scared either.

We dated for a month when I was sixteen, and he was a pretty popular guy and had a number of girl friends between 9-12th grade. We had been good friends for a long time but when we dated there wasn't much of a spark and eventually we broke it off a month later because it was really boring.

He had two long term relationships since then as well. I thought it was the booze talking so I called him up today (seeing how he kinda fled my house and walked home in the middle of the night) and in a state of soberness said he meant all of it. Oi.

It would be nice if a girl went out of their way to be interested in me. I have a feeling though that if one did she would be fat and or ugly; if not that, then have a terrible personality. Basically, even if it happened, shit would suck.

As for me confessing, not sure. I've said things pretty bluntly and up front, but nothing like "I love you, please accept me!"

i've confessed to a girl before. and it was the way they do it in the anime and all. ( cheesy i know) and lucky for me it worked.

I had a guy confessed to me at my graduation party. Most of us were either tipsy or drunk there. I didn't rly liked him that way so i pretended like i was drunk. The next day, he tried to fish around too see if i get the msg, and i just played it off :whistle:

rinj, i agree with eme/cates (?). You seem to be happily married w/ hubby. So end the drama now and get on w/ that. Also that, the guy might just be in 'desperation' phase right now (after breaking up w/ his g/f and all). And he's lonely and want someone to be there to cuddle w/ and etc. It's a phase for him, he'll get over it.
