Well, I can’t speak personally because I self-studied Japanese for three years before I entered Japanese I, so everything is super easy for me. I could definitely understand the workload. My professor has already introduced hiragana, katakana, 45 kanji characters, shit load of vocabulary, a lot of grammar. Plus, we have a quiz every time the class meets.

I'm guessing not because in animes and dramas they say it all out as "Lolita Complex."

So I guess the japanese word for loli is "Lolita Complex."

Hmmm...took Japanese for three years in highschool. Most of it 'stook'. I can't read Kanji. But I can read Hiragana and Katana pretty easy. I would say I'm semi-semi fluent.

I would know how to get around...tell the time..greet people...ask for something. ^^ /no1

I am currently trying to memorize the JLPT level 3. I took a few semesters of japanese, but I skipped a lot of classes. Now there are holes in my grammar and structure. I have to go back and review the basics. >_< Baka!

Remember students. Ditching class is deterimental to your education. I'm surprised I managed to pass any of my classes.

Japanese is Subject-Object-Verb which takes some time to become accustomed. I still think Subject-Verb-Object.

Japanese courses are mad hard, dude. It's like the hardest classes you could possibly take in college. I would do the work if it wasn't so early in the morning.

Are you serious? I jumped in at the 100 level this year(I'm a 1st year), and I'm breezing through the class. I'll agree though, that class being at 9:05 is a bummer, but it's at 11:00am next year :D . Although, unlike a lot of the people here, I tend to watch almost every flipping thing that shows up on this site, so I'm watching an average of like twoish hours of anime a day. It's pretty neat to watch everything fall into place as you understand more and more. Right now, I'm debating about taking a leave of absence to study abroad next spring, so I can catch up to the majors and go for a full year. Double Majoring in Music/Anything is a pain in the ass.
