So, your policemen are all mall cops or what? I thought you might make the point of them usually tagging along in two's...which tends to be a problem. Which is a good thing.

I don't know how to disagree properly here; I don't think they're like mall cops at all, but you might define mall cops differently to me. Some officers carry Glock pistols (you Germans seem to be pretty good at making guns, eh), but certainly not all of them all the time.
Ja, they do tend to cruise around in pairs wearing stab-proof vests. Many aren't particularly physically impressive though, so if you were a real nutcase you could probably stab one and get his/her gun. That would be an extraordinarily dumb thing to do, but I suppose it could be done.
