Japanese Anime market produce just crap lately?

Postby Hansmeier » Fri Sep 25, 2009 3:12 am

Is it just me or is the japanese anime market just producing crap animes lately. Im watching animes more than 10 years now and in the last year their were just crap. Am i full of animes or isnt their anything good comming out?

Their were funny animes like FMP interesting like Crest/banner of the Star and good animes like Berserk. But nothing equal is to watch now.

And when i watch the BU Boards their is no activitiy as well. Did i miss something?

Ur sugestions plz?

The stuff you used to watch was no better; you just enjoyed it at the time because you didn't know any better and now you're looking back at it nostalgically.
It's all the same these days but you've probably grown a bit more discerning. Just pick something and watch it and let yourself enjoy it.

Animes forums are still active everywhere... except here.

It's just you. They actually make both good stuff and crap.

No, I agree. I mean obviously it depends on what kind of anime you enjoy.

But you know somethings up when you stop watching anime for 3 years and you come back to see Naruto, still the most viewed show and more show's being published about panties and japanese school life. I think the last anime I genuinely liked was "Mnemosyne".

Shitty deal, on what's coming out this season too.

I'll concede that I think there's more shitty pantsu animes (haha, read those two adjectives separately) and less cool stuff being produced at the moment, but I do think there are still some good shows mixed in there.
There have been a few I've enjoyed in the last few season, plus a couple of real gems in the last few years (Detroit Metal City!!) and I think the upcoming spring season looks promising. Oofuri 2 is cool for me, thoguh I really don't know why I liked the first one... plus a new Manglobe anime, something from Shaft called "arakawa under the bridge" which looks delightfully random, a new Masaaky Yuasa (kaiba, kemonodzume) + Madhouse work, Giant Killing has a promo thumbnail which looks like it'll be exactly the kind of anime I like... so yah, it's really looking good as far as I'm concerned.

I've pretty much stopped watching anime since the original is always better.
I did however watch the Kara no Kyoukai movies, having little other choice since Del Ray Manga made it im-fucking-possible to get ahold of the novels. I curse those guys on a regular basis.

Shaft can make their anime look somewhat interesting, but in most cases i suggest you just read the visual novel, novel or manga.
