Oh, and I didn't notice before, but since I jsut watched some Casshern I've jut come to realise the incongruity in that statement.
i.e. Casshern is very average.
Oh wait, I'll do a review.
art: great, I like the style, drawn well 8/10
OP: awful, 1/10
Sound: Cliche sounds. 4/10
Plot: Feeble. Nothing happens except a new robot who's more powerful than the last appears and there are some powerup fights and "What am I?!"flashback scenes. 2/10
CHaracter design: 4/10, nothing particularly cool? Everything seems to be a throwback to 80's anime, which gels with the sound effects, but is not really appreciable right now. Maybe in 20 years it'll be cool.
edit: Oh right, I see now that they're based on '70s designs... I don't know if that's better or worse. Actually, the 70's series seems a lot more interesting.
as a fair and unbiased average, Casshern scores 3.8/10
(My apologies for using a decimal in a vulgar fraction. )
Does this show get better later on? The monologue on Umai fansubs' site seems to suggest the opposite, though he could be being ironic.
