And by who else likes it, lol.

I completely agree with your last statement. I know whose opinions about anime match with mine.

However, I've seen multiple animes with anime styles or openings I didn't like that turned out to be more than simply great (Now and Then, Here and There); and many in which animation quality was deceptive (.hack series).

I believe in more of knowing someone's tastes well enough to know when not to trust their opinion. We all have our own weaknesses and preferences after all.

:D
I was thinking more along the lines of what Kunjunky just said, that when people with crap tastes like an anime I tend to dislike it. But yeah, it works your way too :D

How much I like the OP is surprisingly reliable though. I haven't figured out if a good OP lends a good charm (and puts me in a more receptive mood) to the anime or whether it's just that people who make create a stylish series will always put a stylish OP on it. I guess it doesn't really matter either way, heh.

It's also that I don't believe that people can have 100% of the same taste of each other. Say with one friend, we mostly like the same movies for the same reasons, but I know he has a weakness for teen comedies. So when he recommends one I have to keep in mind his tolerance for such stuff is much greater than my own.

but lol @ ops, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbzmLFBZpfE

Code Geass's OP and ED got raped by shitty songs. And as Jinky posted, heh, OPs are not always reliable. I always rely on others' tastes to choose my anime. It's easier than watching everything myself.

Yeah the OP of code Geass sounds like steaming shit now. I just watch the shows that have a drawing style that appeal to me.

You are all forgetting the greatest Anime ever made:

FLCL

owned.

"Where'd you get that line from...Anime?"

you should change your avatar because it's the same one one of the tossers here had so it makes me think he posted stuff which automatically makes me disagree with it.

and you should watch some cooler anime.

I have quite a bit of favorites. Here's a few that come to mind.
NANA, Gundam Seed, Ouran High School Host Club, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Peach Girl, Elfen Lied.

That is all I can think of at the moment. n__n;

I agree, though in her (I assume it's a she, if not I apologize) defense, she probably hasn't seen too many animes, so her expectations are low.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is a tear jerker. But there is nothing oh so good about it. If you are looking for a drama and a tear jerker that's actually good, watch Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (OAV) that still holds the first position in ANN top 10 best rated anime list.

Agree with above poster that everyone has their own tastes in what they realy like. But then again comes discussions what was so oh great about it. I think two of my favorites are Fate Stay Night and Trinity Blood. By the way Trinity blood looked very much like it would be some follow up or that it could come soem follow up on it. Anyone know anything about it?
