- Akino Arai (pop, a bit like MUM or björk or stinna nordenstam)
- Asa Chang & Junray (electronica / pop)
- BoA - (for example the album "A race of a thousand camels")
- Cornelius (just crazy and amusing)
- Boredoms (weird stuff, but interesting!)
- Dried Bonito (pop-rock)
- Hi-posi (they're nice after 20 cups of coffee)
- Ken Ishii (techno)
- Piana (soft pop, but great)
- Quruli (pop-rock, very variated and well-produced)
- Rei Harakami (and generally the stuff on Sublime Records)
- Satoshi Tomiie (an old-school techno DJ)
- Sayuri Ishikawa (yes it's Enka, but i think it has a lot of spirit!)
- Deracine Ching-Dong (a punk-rock band that plays enka)
- Takagi Masakatsu (pop)
- Takashi Nakajima (a techno DJ)
- The Cro-Magnons (punk!)
- Toru Takemitsu (traditional kabuki theater music. listen in darkness or candelight)
