the other thing is does the regenerating flame thing mean that Sakai is immortal?
his "torch life" is seemingly endless if it just keeps regenerating every day
but do torches die from old age like the person they're replacing would?
i.e. if there is a 90 year old that became a torch, and that the 90 year old would've died of old age shortly thereafter... will the torch also die of old age? or does the torch only dissipate when the "torch life" ends?

I think Marian exploded, and Sakai's abillity only works if his flame is not ENTIRELY depleted during the day, so it can regenerate at night.

It will never be depleted, at least from what Alastor and Shana stated. Yuuji is the Reiji Maigo (Midnight Stray), who has his powers restored at midnight no matter how much he uses. Technically, he is "immortal" now...

The series was quite good so far. Nice mix of different genres, and the latest episode just confirmed that. Aside from the usual action and drama, we have more fanservice and lots of humor in the latest episode. ^^

either that, or when he volunteers his flame to be used to restore things that were destroyed again, Shana could use too much and kill him off

He already offered to give it all up to fix the devastated scenery in one episode. I think Shana said something like it wasn't enough to fix everything, so they didn't bother.

That's not what she really said. What was stated was that She took out a LOT of powers of existence from Yuuji to fix the devastated school building and lives of the students in it. Aside from that, Friagne had taken so much in their battle of the City Devouring that Yuuji's powers were depleted, only to have them restored at midnight because of his Reiji Maigo inside him.

EDIT: The manga seems to be a little different from the anime though. Some events are fast forwarded and some are brought back a little. Nevertheless, the artwork's impeccably good and the story's worth reviewing...

Hmm, I just recently started this series and episode 1 was a major turn off. But the animation style caught me and also I, for some reason, had a small piece of hope that this series just might get better.

And what do you know? This series is awesome. I love the development of the main relationship in the story. Its great!

Ahhh but all good things come to an end, and too quickly for this series. Only up to 11 has been released! DAMN! I WANT MORE NOW! ;)

Back on topic. Considering the fact that Yuuji was seen to have gotten hold of Sorath's sword in the novel, it is definite that either the twins get beaten up pretty badly or are-well, killed.

I don't like the animation It's too flashy and overdone, with all the friggin red glow on EVERYTHING. The fight scenes are weak, but the rest in my eyes is good especially Shana.

Are you kidding. They have obviously gone out of their way to make flawless overdone animation. the flow and smoothness of movement doesn't bother me. It's the goddamn red and blueish glowiness on everything and the flashy fluorescent colours. Then on top of that the fights are boring, because of the distracting freakish colours.

I haven't read the manga yet but I doubt that it is glowing so much.

i like the anime....but for the manga, the art seems..somehow....awkward...and confusing than the anime....it's somehow plain that makes you wanna have some more glowiness in it...

Well, all I can say is that different people have different preferences. I for one think the art's unique, albeit a little weird, but other than that, it's quite nicely drawn, and unlike some animes and their huge differences between the art of the mangas, I think perhaps the manga is still drawn rather decently.
