Baka-Updates.com site changes

Postby bigNutz » Sun Oct 04, 2009 1:52 pm

Hello everybody, I am responsible for website changes. I have been looking through the suggestions forum to try and incorporate some of the features that everybody wants. I will outline here what I have done so far, so please provide feedback, bug and error info in the suggestions forum.

October Changes:

Release comments section
- clicking on the release title shows info about the it, and a comments section
- intended to provide a location for everybody to post alternate download locations for similar release entries

DVDRip bittorrent links
- in the past we do not allow these links due to some rough legal encounters
- but I am advocating for links to be posted again, and viewed by members only upon login
- hopefully we will see these in the coming weeks

Adding Releases
- on the left hand navigation, an option to submit releases should be visible for users with 10+ forum posts
- these releases are posted in a 'user list' located here: http://www.baka-updates.com/releases/ulist

User List
- I hope everybody will contribute to this section

Series Info
- trying to revamp this section
- logged in users should be able to edit entries, I encourage everybody to contribute here

Out of curiousity, are you guys planning support for multiple resolutions for a single anime (usually SD vs. HD)?

Currently, sometimes an HD version gets put up instead of SD or vice-versa.

Hi. I think the old system when you clicked on the anime title and all of the relases of that anime appeard, had more sense than this new torrent info feature. I could find fast the latest relases of all the fansubbers, what was handy in some case. I suggest to put a new column into the table with a small "i" info icon in it, and if somebody want to see the torrent details he/she can click on it.
