Mainly because I finished The Legends of Heroes, A Tear of Vermillion, so I wanted to continue on with the series.
im stuck against the final boss of the first one
Yeah, I know what you mean. I, too, was having a hard time beating the final boss (mostly because all of his attacks kept on beating the crap out of everyone I had on my team).
So i'll give you a few tips that helped me win. :)
1) Use enhancing spells right off the bat. (And when they disappear after a few turns) These things help out in the long run because it's a long battle after all, so you might as well give it your all. Now, and yes I know, by doing this, you'll slow down the game speed because of all the circling balls that are moving around your characters, but it's better to be patient and just deal with it, than to get crap loads of beatdowns, right? (Even the guy with the lowest magic defense on my team got the magic shield boost (not the full magic shield, just magic shield) he took alot less damage than I thought he would) Yes, I know it takes time to cast them, but that's why you got La Rarer. (In fact, I think 3 out of 4 of your characters can cast La Rarer... I think)
2) Space out your characters. Believe it or not (.... i'm 95% sure on this), none of his attacks, attacks all characters on the screen. Sure, they may LOOK like they do, but they really don't (Yeah, I kind of didn't get it at first until I accidently made my guys go out too far and some stay back, then all of a sudden, I noticed these big attacks that the boss was making didn't affect some of my guys). So if you got ranged attacks, use em well. (Plus, Deadly attacks have huge range, but they don't make you move your character in order to attack them, so definitely get into the habit of standing far away and using your deadly attacks from a distance)
